Hello! I'm a new chick and keet momma. All of this is super new to me! My biggest concern with all my research, I was told I could keep my chicks and keets and raise them together (I only have 6 chicks and 2 keeps) in the same brooder. After all my research for the guineas do I need to feed them a more specific food at such a young age (higher protein) or should I be okay with my chick starter and grower food? Also, if I do need to feed them different foods... how does one do that in the same brooder? Might be a stupid question but I just want whats best for my little girls!

Do not raise the keets with chicks, they will imprint to the chicks and everything may seem fine till the guineas breeding season.
Feed your chicks chick starter and feed your keets 24-26% protein turkey or gamebird starter.
You might also want to get more keets, guineas do best in large flocks.

Congratulations on your new babies. I often have chicks and keets together. Keets should have a higher protein feed. So I usually get game bird grower for the keets and the chicks eat it too. The grower has around 22% protein which is a little less than the keets should have and a little more than the chicks need. But it won't hurt any of them. In a pinch I have fed all of them chick starter if it's at least 20% protein.

Some people believe (and they're probably right) that they shouldn't be raised together. But with a small number of babies that you have it's just not feasible to raise them separately. Good luck and enjoy! ;)
