anyone tell me if this is a hen she is so girlie looking to me she likes to run with the chickens ,i got her from the feed store i was told she would run away if i let her out ,i kept her up for a couple of days, then the wind blew a piece of tin off and she got out since then, i let the rooster and his girls, out a couple of hours a day late in the afternoon, she goes out and comes in with them ,i was very surprised to see her go to roost with them ,she had been roosting on top of the hen house, so here is jinnie

To me male and female guineas look the same. I do know that males only make a one syllable sound and females make a two syllable sound.

Listen to the guinea's call. If it makes the "buck-wheat" type sound it is a hen. If it only does a "chi" type sound, it is a male. The females can imitate the "chi" sound but males can't imitate the "buck-wheat" sound.
