Hey guys and gals, my name is Chet and I am from Northern Montana. My wife and I recently built a house and have 20 acres of land. We currently have a few cows that we run with my father-in-laws herd and we want to get another small source of income. I work at a local New Holland dealership and sell equipment as well as program gps so we were looking for something I can do after hours and the subject of peafowl came up over the weekend! My wife's grandfather actually had peafowl years back as more of a hobby and small source of income but got rid of them quite a few years back. He has since passed away, before we were married, so I don't have a close source for information but we like the idea because it is sort of nostalgic for my wife and we think it would be a ton of fun and possibly a source of income. So that's what brings me here. Thanks!

Instead of clogging up this section of the forum with questions I'll post up another thread in the "Peafowl" section.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Congratulations on your new house and farm, and good luck with your peafowl project, they are beautiful birds!

Welcome to BYC!

Oh, I just love Peas!! They are such pretty birds and I just love the calls!! If I had the room, I would definitely add Peas to the mix here.

Enjoy all your poultry adventures and welcome to our flock!

Thank you all for the welcome! I am very excited to get into peafowl but I also don't want to rush into it with out doing my research for my sake and the sake of the birds. So thanks again for the welcome!
