New Guy Intro

Hello everyone, names Ben and I am new to chickens but have been researching for a long while. I will receive 4 juveniles this coming week and 2 more the following week, 6 different breeds: Silv laced Wyan, Buff Orping. Amerau, Maran, Whiting Green and RIR. All 4+ weeks old. Egg layers; wife and youngest daughter want no part of butchering, meaning it is not going to happen. Son just wants the wyandotte and name it Harold, I don’t know why? I retired from Navy 30+ years and now a full time student, like gardening and fishing. Found BYC on the internet looking up information. And with new chicks on the way decided to become a member. We currently have our oldest daughter cat with us. And I think that answers all the questions on the newby template. Oh, I don’t have a favorite aspect of raising chickens Yet? Now that covers it.
