New Guy on the Flock

Oh by the way, I have a question while we are in here!

I've been wanting to get EE's or EE bantams for the longest time but I keep hearing mixed reviews on them. I've heard some people tell me they are super docile and nice tempered and I've also heard that they can be aggressive.

I've got a flock of mostly small birds, and 3 standards. I want to get a large breed for production and EE's would fit the bill if they get along with my D'uccles!

I had a hard time with health issues with my pullets and had to cull all of them. I know mom had some and hers were fine and got a long with the rest of the flock. I also had someone tell me they are not the hardiest bird. I think I had a bad bunch. I bought them from a hatchery that I always use and had no problems with the other chicks I got at the same time from the same place.

Hello Kelsie!

Thanks for the insight WC4H, and I've heard that EE's are Cold and Heat hardy, I wonder what's up with the back and forth information on this breed, haha. It's probably because EE's are not a true breed and a mix with at least 1 Ameracauna parent so it may be that the temperaments of that 2nd breed show up in some EE's depending on what they were crossed with.

That's my only guess as to why it's so all over the board.
