Wendy, I am so sorry about you losing your little man. I was just admiring my little "Forest" pullet today. I guess I'll have to get together w/ Janet and see if we can work on perpetuating Forest's lineage. So sad.

he was unique and everyone commented when they came into the yard for birds.
i feel stupid letting a favorite run the yard, but i loved watching him run around. he was one of a kind for sure. it just makes me sick, i have a bunch out there that i wouldnt care so much about, always the favorites, it sucks.

I loved looking at Forest, he was cute funny, i know when we came over he would try to act conspicuous,(i probably spelled that wrong) it was too cute.

A dark two-toned one hatched out last night about 11pm and a light one at 5:30am during breakfast. Lost some sleep as I was riveted by that little wet chick. Egads, didn't know they chirp so loud, and stagger all over the place! The totally respond to our voices. So wonderful.

There's still another one alive in it's shell and making slow progress. It's the one we noticed at 3:00pm yesterday. Humidity is too low, if this gauge is accurate. (not sure if it's working right, as I had to beat it, and wipe contact on battery) Only 27% and up from 20% when I checked last night. There is plenty of water in the little reservoirs, and I closed the vents.

I will leave things be, and have to go to work, I can be texted though.

I'm thinking of inventing a chicken diaper so we can just keep our favorites inside. Like these babies I just hatched.
