I cannot do Sat. the 25th...daughters wedding and I think I need to be there...LOL
I also had my vote in for Silver Lake in Hollis. I think the other dates work for me as long as there are no swaps!!!!

Question about mushrooms in grass....Is it safe to let my chickens roam around my yard/lawn then? Do they know to not eat mushrooms, or would they eat a poisonous one without knowing better? I don't think there are any mushrooms in my lawn right now, but sometimes after a lot of rain they have been known to appear. I am not good at IDing any mushrooms. But i had planned to let my chickens free-range some, i just have to get my old shed moved out of the way first.

I don't know about anyone else's birds but ours have never touched any mushrooms.

Chickens will not eat mushrooms
dogs on the other hand are not as smart always,
do not let kids pick or handle wild mushrooms unless they know exactly which mushroom is wich, some are very toxic, and will cause a bad reaction or death.

Ok, thanks, that's good to know that chickens won't eat the mushrooms. I generally don't let my kids pick mushrooms just because i don't know which ones are poisonous. However, i have helped them get those "shelf fungi" off standing deadwood---those big flatish dry ones that you can carve on. My parents let us play with those kind as kids and no one had any problems.

Those ones will not harm any one , they are fiberous,
easily carved on , painted and make wonderfull craft projects.

I have a friend who used to paint them with wild life scenes just stunning work and all natural.

My flock of rocks ( that I use to have

) they use to eat mushrooms. I'd let em all out to free range and all 30ish of them would run to the shrooms like they were gold !! Gone in 5 sec. So I would have to say that chickens DO eat mushrooms

My neighbor fertilizes his lawn, puts our pison for mice and all that crap. I said to him, "arent you worried about the chickens eating any of that stuff?" he said that they only eat what is good for them and they are nor stupid...who knows!
