Sounds like squatters syndrome,
where she was broody for a while her leg muscels may have shrunk up a bit. kinda atrophied. might take her a few days to get up and moving right. as long as she is eating and drinking and pooping fine she should pull out of it in a few days.

i dont think so, this is something that showed today, the chicks are 2 weeks old almost. just not sure

is it possible she fell off a perch and landed butt down? maybe splayed out the legs a little,
remember the rooster the perch collaspsed on , took him a few months to get back on his pins but he did. he is fine now

Oh remeind me to get a picture of a funky chick I hatched out LOL its cute as heck.
could be silkie, frizzel or sizzle, nor sure which but it has a poofy cotton like tail LOL.

My buckeye disappeared Friday

She and the australorp (9 weekers) don't really hang with the flock, they're by themselves close to the coop normally. I didn't see them all afternoon and then went searching for them that evening. Found Blackie (the australorp and hey, my son named her LOL) but no Ruby

Poor Blackie isn't happy. She's roosting near the flock but not hanging with them during the day -- do I need to find her a friend? Anyone have a 9-12 week old for me?

We finally found out what got the baby chicks, though for the life of me I am not sure how it got into the coop.
The evidence is lingering in the air

Now all we have to do is get him to walk his little furry black and white butt into a hav-a-hart and he will be taken care of.

Hubby wakes me up at 3 am
"wheres the dog?" I hope he is inside?
Nope he is out why?
You cant smell it,
no what, oh wait ewwwwwwwwwwww, Cassi's window is open
I go in and shut her window but yet it doesn't smell in there,
good sign.
ugh get the inhaler and Asthma meds, the smell is triggering an asthma attack, oh great just what I need.

Hubby does the chick check, everyone seems fine,
I let the dog inside, nope he didnt get hit, he smells like a dog, thankfully
Hubby comes in and announces, It sprayed in the rabbit barn,
OH GREAT!!! I have to now figureout how to get that smell out of rabbit fur, I have a Show on the 1st of August

anyone got any ideas how to get the smell out of rabbit fur?

You could try this. It's one I know people have used on dogs. Luckily I haven't had to try it myself.

Anti Skunk recipe:

1 quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup of baking soda
1 - 3 tablespoons of Dawn dishwashing detergent

Mix well and apply to the dog. Be sure not to get the
solution anywhere near the eyes. Leave on for 3-5
minutes and rinse well.

Thanks Cindy,
I will try it in a spray bottle, really shouldnt get rabbits soaked to the skin though, it stresses them too much and it also chills them into getting sick. cant have them sick to show them.

Luckily it will be warm and dry today so hopefully they'll dry fast. If they didn't get hit directly then maybe a little of this stuff will get rid of the smell.
