Don't know about the freezer part for him as he is rebuilding his flock this year. My yard is kind of small so I can't keep everything I hatch. My first hatch went to a friend of mine who was looking for some to start his own flock. I am just enjoying watching them hatch at the moment, and taking care of my 8 ladies outside(EE, Australorp, Leghorn).

Hatching with a broody is the best ever. Nothing like watching a broody hen raise chicks.

Welcome to BYC! Glad you’re having so much fun hatching. I’m sure I would run into terrible chicken math problems if I had an incubator. I got some silkies in case I wanted to hatch eggs, of course 4 of the 6 chicks turned out to be boys!
