The new babies are home! We are all pretty tired. Around 9 hours on the road for us, and even more for the babies.
Here's girlie #1. Algerian dark grey light snowflake (may be heavier when the adult quill sets in). Faint badger stripes, "whiskers", and
heavy mottling on the underbelly. She is SUCH a sweetheart!
This is the temperament you wish every hedgehog you ever owned in a breeding program had! I couldn't stop getting her out and holding her all the way home. I hope she's a producer and a good mom. I would love to see this personality shine through in future babies. She's a bit smaller than my other two girls at 8 1/2 oz right now, but she has a lot of time to grow. Of course, everyone is small compared to Nala (or pogzilla!)
Peekabo!
Girlie #2. Algerian grey heavy snowflake (may be darker or lighter with adult quilling). Some hedgies handle stress better than others, but she's not one for it, or being woke up early! I an tell she's a great girl, she was just upset by all the stress. Poor baby. She's a great size, 11 1/4 oz. Her right ear is folded, it's so cute. No, it's not genetic - if it was I wouldn't breed her.
Now when I got her home, she'd licked her mouth and all the shaving dust had gotten all over her while she was burrowing
Not to mention she really wanted to go to sleep!
