New hedgies are home! *pics*

Ah man, I'd just die if I was able to find any of the L Es, or a streaked tenrec. Shelley's hedgehogs are really gorgeous. I just can't get over how many colors are available.

That they are. I'm still working around my limited funds, but I do hope to have some of her blacks one day not too far in the future... I will just die when I get them!

that snowflake is stunning...

i dont know if i could ever have pygmies lol, i grew up in the uk with wild euro hedgies everywhere...the pygmies look kinda funny compaered to what im used to seeing lol.
there too cute though...
my fave colors are the apricots, pintos, algerian blacks and algerian dark cinnicot lol.
pintos make me happy though

I do love the pintos too (but I'm usually a sucker for anything pinto!) I'm hoping to start my own projects for pinto-snowflakes, blacks, facial markings, and possibly dilutes. The snowflake girls' sire was a total pinto, and the sire of the very dark, dark grey's girl was a dark grey split face pinto-snowflake w/ eyeliner. Absolutely stunning animal.

As a matter of fact, I'm emailing with Shelley right now about a little girl hedgie! Your guys are super cute.

Shelley is just super nice, isn't she? I was so upset when my plans a while back fell through and I couldn't run down and get a few hoglets from her. Thanks

The new babies are home! We are all pretty tired. Around 9 hours on the road for us, and even more for the babies.

Here's girlie #1. Algerian dark grey light snowflake (may be heavier when the adult quill sets in). Faint badger stripes, "whiskers", and heavy mottling on the underbelly. She is SUCH a sweetheart!

This is the temperament you wish every hedgehog you ever owned in a breeding program had! I couldn't stop getting her out and holding her all the way home. I hope she's a producer and a good mom. I would love to see this personality shine through in future babies. She's a bit smaller than my other two girls at 8 1/2 oz right now, but she has a lot of time to grow. Of course, everyone is small compared to Nala (or pogzilla!)

Peekabo!

Girlie #2. Algerian grey heavy snowflake (may be darker or lighter with adult quilling). Some hedgies handle stress better than others, but she's not one for it, or being woke up early! I an tell she's a great girl, she was just upset by all the stress. Poor baby. She's a great size, 11 1/4 oz. Her right ear is folded, it's so cute. No, it's not genetic - if it was I wouldn't breed her.

Now when I got her home, she'd licked her mouth and all the shaving dust had gotten all over her while she was burrowing

Not to mention she really wanted to go to sleep!

Haha, I thought about that myself. But if my mentor can handle it while being a full time mom, I think I can probably cover it. Her herd has over 80 breeding animals - that's not counting all of the babies!

ETA: And you can still never get enough of those adorable faces! It's taking all of my will power not to barge in that room and look at those babies.
