New Hen has crusy beak, runny nose, keeps closing eyes - first chicken

I'm taking one to the vet today to be examined. I am worried, as I noticed today that her breath smelt very bad, which, after reading several articles on here, indicates something unpleasant. Neither would take any feed today either, the same stuff they both ate really well last night. Several people have said I should put her out of her misery, but I feel this is a bit too sudden, without letting a vet take a look at her. I'm sure something can be done.

OMGosh, I am dealing with the same thing!!! Came here for advice, and BAM there is the same question I was going to ask. I have 3 hens (coop/backyard) the other two are eating and doing great. One is snotting out of the nose and has a crusty beak. I let her out to "roam" yesterday and she was still and lethargic. The other two were having a feast.... It's Sat. and I don't know of any chicken drs. My dear husband is looking up the meds others had replied to. Funny thing we too went through the shelless egg about a week ago. Gross...
