Hey! New here - just got my first 4 chicks on Sunday! We're so excited to finally be on this exciting adventure! Here's the answers to the questions:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
yes, new - just got our chicks on Sunday
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Just 4, but I can already feel the chicken math kicking in!
(3) What breeds do you have?
Well, I was told I have a golden sex link, a black sex link, a production blue, and a cuckoo maran. I'll post pics in the appropriate thread for help with that.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Eggs (of course) and getting to spend time with thr different personalities, plus I'm excited for my kids to learn the ins and outs!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
4-wheelers, boating, reading, crafts
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We're a family of 4 people, 3 toy Australian shepherds, 1 yellow bellied slider, a tank of fish, and now 4 chicks. I'm a SAHM but my kids are in elementary school, so I have a PT job working from home. Hubby owns a door & trim company and likes to race cars in his spare time.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I've been researching chickens for years and have found tons of info on BYC throughout my searches. Now that I finally have started my flock, I figured it was time to join.
