I introduced a new hen to my coop 2 weeks ago, aside from being very shy, she hasn't laid any eggs.

How long will it take her to "relax" and lay? Any ideas?

Boy, there could be all sorts of reasons. You didn't give too much info. Is she of laying age? What breed? Was she laying before you got her. Is she of good health? What is she eating? Is she checking out the nest boxes? See if you can give us a bit more information to work with.

I believe she is a americauna mutt. I rescued her from our local SPCA. They did not have any info on her. She is full size, I believe she is at least 8months to a year old.
She eats layer crumble that I feed the others. Although she seems a little thinner than the others. But not by much.
She does not have much of a crown like the rhode islands...could that be an age indicator? I have been told it is a breed characteristic.
I'm not sure if she is checking out the nesting box. But she seems to spend more time in the coop than the others.
I will post a picture when it is light outside.

I agree. Also sometimes some birds take longer to adjust to change than others and it may be closer to a month before you get any eggs if she has been laying. Please post a pic.
