New hens

I am going to buy a couple new hens. I have one already and am wondering how to get the new ones used to the coop so they will return to it at night. I know they need to spend a night or two in it to get used to where their home is. My question is, Can I lock the 3 of them in together or will that cause a problem.

They will fight but that’s normal. You can do a slow introduction to ease the fighting and I recommend the slow introduction to ease the stress.

Thank you. They are recommending keeping the new comers in the coop for two days but what do I do with my other hen? I can’t lock her out of the coop.

Get a crate or make a section for her in the coop.

I have a prefab coop so I’m not sure I have room for a crate in there. Can see this is to be easy. I might have to rethink getting new hens.
