Hello everyone I'm new here and new to chickens as well. We got 6 chickens April this year a week after my son was born. 4 of those are still alive. 1 was lost to a stray cat and the other dug a hole under its coop and got stuck. So with procuring 4 more yesterday we now have 8 hens between 7.5 and 9 months old. While the 4 New ones are yet unknown on breed, though we believe them to be Welsummer's, we also have 2 Rhode Island Reds (1 has layed every day since mid September), 1 black barred Plymouth rock that has an affinity for being pet, and 1 leghorn.
Ran across this site a while back when trying to properly identify my chickens.
We also raise tilapia. Have 1 dog. 1 cat. A basement troll (aka our tenant) and our 7 .5 month old son. I also enjoy canning foods from our garden and also making jellys.
