Hello and welcome to BYC! So sorry for the loss of your chick. Some dogs can't help themselves. It sounds like you've got the perfect flock! We ended up with 6 more then we intended.
Chickens are addicting. My flock of 8 still seems small.
Oh my Word. Thank you God, I'm not the only Express Speed Chicken Newby. I have just about caused my sweet husband to think I have lost my mind. I have Two Silkies, my sweet girls(Bella & Louise). One Golden Wyandotte( Ester Fay), Two Cochins(Thelma & Ruth), 2 Golden Polish(Frik & Frak) and one Millie (Lucy). We had a Ethel and she turned into Ricky. He was not a nice roo, so he went to a Farm. I just want a few more. Maybe two of what ever I see. They are so beautiful and interesting to watch. This all started in March. So I understand how you feel.

Yes, totally addicting! I saw some bantams that I want to get! However, I am going to have to wait till next spring. I don' t want to try new chicks yet... Little nervous, so maybe in the spring I will try my hand at a few Milles, Seabrights, and more Silkies. Also definetly going to get some more leghorns. I have only one, and believe it or not, she's actually my favorite. She has such a funny little personality, and she doesn't even peck at the newest members of the flock! She'll fly over the fenciing seperating them, and just hang out. I am lucky thou, I have my son totally backing me up on getting them.
