New here,and new to Chickens..

Hi ! I think I write here. Somewhere it said to introduce myself. I hope I'm on the right page..I'am from a small Island in Alaska. Never before have I ever had Chickens or even been around them . My only experience was one day I was walking home from school and there was a chicken running on the road with no head. I was young and it really freaked me out. It was running my way and I franticly ran home. That was my only experience..''Untill'' NOW ! May 2nd I got 5 chickens.. 2 Barred-Rocks, 2 Rd.Is.Reds and a Wyandotte..They are about a month old. I could watch them all day if I could. How addicting ! These little girls are very friendly and let us pick them up at all times. This will be an experience for me an my Grandson.(he's 12) Actually last winter , my family spent Christmas in Mx. and he talked me into it. Sure glad he did ! But the memory of the ''headless chicken'' keeps coming to mind.. only now I can laugh about it. I've been doing alot of research ,and came across this site.. I'am so thrillled to be added here, and looking forward to questions and answers, and hope there will be lots of pictures.
