Hello chicken people!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We started with chickens just this Aug. We’re already on our 3rd batch of chicks so things have gone fast!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 6 hens, 3 cockerels that we’re trying to rehome and 1 that we’re hoping to be a hen…
(3) What breeds do you have?
Currently we have Buff Orpingtons, Bantam Barred Rocks and Silkies.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Oh my, seing the kids having fun, connecting and getting attached with the chicks and how they develop has been so much fun! Of course I also enjoy the chicks and always plan on getting new breeds… We’re not on the laying eggs part yet but we’re looking forward to that! We’ve also already sold some chicks and made some money for the kids, they have definitely enjoyed that part too.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I don’t do much other than running a family and taking care of all our animals too.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We are a family with several little children. We have chickens, dogs, cats, rabbits and goats, mostly for pets. I would consider us quite home, family and animal loving family.
