New here and to chickens, excited to join and learn more about our feathered friends!

Oh wow that really sounded like a special experience!!!👏❤️🤗🥳 You did really good for a first timer I think and doing all your research!!👍 I’m sorry about the ones that didn’t hatch, especially the one that was moving but at least you got 6!!!🐥🐣🐥🐥🐣🐥💕🩷💕 I can only imagine the feeling on the hatching day and then all the days after that when they started growing, I’m sure it forms a different and special bond between you and the birds.🥰 Then you’re literally like a mom to them!!❤️
They really are special to me. I love them to death, and they are spoiled rotten! 🥰 😍 :jumpy:love:D

Ok thank you!😊👍
Apologies for still not having photos. It has been raining on and off here, in addition to work going gangbusters crazy, I haven't had a chance to take any. Rain is forcasted for the next several days as well, but I will really try to get some photos soon.

My one peck-injured hen is completely on the mend now and laid her first egg again today, so I'm so excited to have her rejoin the other ladies in gifting me their daily little butt nuggets! :wee:celebrate:jumpy

Hey, it’s ok, I’m glad to hear from you after a long break and that you’ve still been remembering! I understand the rain. I’l happy you got your peck-injured bird back in duty! We ended up ordering 2 Leghorn and 2 Australorp chicks for the coming Feb so I’m excitedly looking forward to that and see how ours will turn out!! :jumpy :wee

Yay!!! Just remember to handle the leghorn chicks (and as hens) often so they get used to it (human contact). Mine are not skittish at all, and one in particular LOVES to be held/cuddled. As I was cleaning out the coop a couple days ago and not paying her any attention as she was walking around and pecking at my feet for attention, she finally got tired of me paying no mind to her and flew up to the top of the coop right next to my face. She happily cuddled and curled up into my arms when I picked her up off the top of the coop. She's so demanding! :lau:jumpy:love Love my little feathery boss lady to pieces. 🥰😍
