We're getting our first chickens ever and in anticipation of their arrival have been working on their coop. Still have to add the run, the gutters, the rain collection system and, and ,and.... After lurking here for awhile this is my first post also. Been learning so much on the site, the chicks are set to be delivered next week. Any way on to the pics

It's cute.
But you need a lot more ventilation.

The windows open and the overhangs are open. I bought some vents to add if needed but thought by leaving soffits open would be enough???

Looks pretty nice!
Can we see the inside too, please?
How many birds will you have?

That's good for sure but some gable or ridge vents will help the soffit vents work better.

Oh, and....Welcome to BYC! @Kewe
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

Thanks, I've updated the profile, we're in Northeast Ohio. We are currently planning on having six in the flock. The inside still needs finished but here's a pic. I did buy two 2x10" vents I could add. Add them to the back wall? I was worried it would be to drafty in the winter with them.

Add them to the back wall?
I'd put one in front and one in back, as high as you can get them.

Might put both roosts at same height and loose the ramps between.
Ramps are too steep to be of much use.

Can't quite tell what this is, but if they can roost on it, best to block it off with some wire mesh.

Almost done, need to add the 2 - 2x10" vents in the top, the roof on the run, and a few more small details. Thanks for the input so far.

Just need to add the gutters and rain catchment system, but that can happen after the chickens are in. Everything else is finished, added the vents to the to the too of the coop to go with the open soffits and the window openings. All locks are in place, roof is on the run. Ready to take the birds out next week.
