i'm near bloomington.

i don't do much of anything special for the chickens over winter - give them a decent shelter, a heated waterer, and they should be fine. last winter we kept ours in an open-air coop where one side had huge open windows 24/7. i believe ventilation is more important than heat. none of ours had any frostbite or any problems.
