Hi! I'm Erin from IN and I have a ton to learn. [IMG]

We are just looking into chicken tractors and breeds of chickens. Hubby is going to build our chicken tractor and we hope to get about 3 chicks in the spring. We live in the country on about an acre of land. We figure 3 chickens will be plenty for our growing family. So far we are blessed to have 3 children, ages 5 - 2 - and 3 months. I know the kids are going to love having chicks!

Our biggest concern is how to deal with the winter. It can get very cold here for extended amounts of time, but a lot of people here have chickens so I know it's do-able. I can't wait to jump in here and start learning!

Don't fret about the cold, they raise chickens in Alaska. Down here (FL) we have to worry about the heat.

I can't recommend the info listed on here (the coops and runs info) enough!!! esp the parts about ventilation - (actually, anything written by patandchickens is great info!)
