new here--from Upstate SC

[Camp. Cleveland]

Just joined this group this morning. We live in SC, my 2 teens (boy 13, girl 15) decided we want to raise hen laying chickens. Bought 6 (Tractor Supply had a minimum!) about a month ago. They are getting their feathers now. We have at least 2 roosters, but seems like every day the other ones look like they might be trying to grow that comb on the head. Tractor Supply said they will be having a "chick swap" the first part of June, so we might be heading that way.

We have a 10x10 dog pen that I want to try to use to be part of our coop when we build it. I have found a few ideas through Google and one of the hits was this site. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome. Trying to do it as cheaply as possible.
