Hello all
I joined and jumped right in with questions, lots of questions.. lol.
This group is amazing and in the last few days along, helped me and my Lucy, (currently on the mend), so much.
Just wanted to introduce myself and my flock. My name is Ed and I live in LaBelle, Florida. A small town with very limited resources for, well anything really, especially vet care and specifically care for chickens. I started about a year ago with one rooster ( who we thought was a hen, lol) named Margie, (remember we thought he was a she). Well he was lonely so you know what happened, we got him some girlfriends, and long story short we now have 6 chickens all together, Margie and 5 hens, Penny, Lucy, Esmeralda, Wilma, and Betty.
I wasn't satisfied with just letting them free range as the hawks here were very interested in them, so I built them a large coop and run, with all the latest bells and whistles to keep them safe.
It's been a year or so later and with the exception of Lucy, who is a senior, they give us eggs daily. Lucy had a little issue and still is in our house getting the royal spa and med treatment, but other than that everyone is doing great.
I'm so grateful to have found this group. The help with my ignorance of chicken care has been priceless.
Thanks for having us
