Thanks everyone for your answers. I appreciate it. I recently suffered a great loss and am probably just being hyper-sensitive. Thanks for the kind words.

My great loss (half my flock) is a couple of months old, and I also know the hyper-sensitive thing. [My mom says I used to cry "if someone just looked at me cross-eyed."] Once I asked on here about something bothering me (I honestly don't remember what, maybe I'll check later, not that it matters) and got so irritated with someone's answer, 'cause I thought the person had an attitude. Yes, I read the same words anyone else did, and read into it that s/he had a problem with my question or something.
Another thing I learned when I went to a local BYC get-together, is that after a while, some members only check certain threads (for example, the Connecticut thread to keep up with people they knew, and Buy~Sell~Trade area, if they had something for sale, or were looking for something. At that point I was still fairly new, and the person who mentioned it did apologize before telling me something like "I can see only so many first-egg or these-are-my-chicks posts." So, I guess we are all here for various reasons, and luckily people's reasons match up to make it a great forum.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I lost a beloved dog and as you know, these things just affect every minute of your day until you can get a grip on the grief. So I agree with what you said. I am sure I was taking it wroing, looking at it now. In fact, I wish I could delete that post! But BYC people have really made some nice suggestions and comments and I appreciate it all very much!

Welcome to our forum! I'm also sorry you didn't get any more replies to your other thread, but I think what others have said, that people simply have no idea what the answer is, is a good guess for the reason. I looked at your thread, and I also have no idea -- not that I'm any expert, I'm certainly not, but I've been reading BYC for a while now. I also regularly look at the unanswered posts to see what I can answer, and leave a lot of them unanswered for the same reason.

Lots of folks make friends here. We hope you'll hang around, perhaps hunt up your state thread or look into some areas of the forum that appeal to you, and enjoy!
