Barred Babies is right. It reacts to the metal & corrodes it causing zinc to be released into the water. And it changes the taste of the water, too.

So, taking a stool sample to the vet (and the bird) is a great start. Also, given that Marek's is considered so common that chicken keepers are advised to assume their flocks have Marek's -- you may want to research that.


Glad you found the forum. I hope you find much good information here. (As well meaning as all are with their advice, it is still up to you to exercise good sense in taking the advice.
