New here, um, ya

Hi all,

New here. Looking forward to transitioning from a shady lurker to an active participant.

As to the sample questions

(1) Brand new, so new I don't have any but am aiming to get some in the next 1-2 months
(2) I have 0 chickens
(3) NA
(4) TBD but likely egg production given my family burns through 30+ eggs a week. Additionally, I am trying to become more self sufficient and am excited to learn the composting process in more depth
(5) I am an attorney, we aren't allowed to have hobbies until we make partner, though I am hoping chickens and gardening will become hobbies as time goes on and free time increases
(6) Wife, Step Child, and three dogs (and hopefully chickens in the next couple of months)
(7) I found BYC about a year ago when I first started to get interested in the idea of having some hens. I am joining for multiple reasons. First, as I am sure is the case with most, I have a question I need help with. Second, after seeing the level of community here, I felt it would be foolish to not soak up as much of the wisdom as possible and being to share any wisdom I have gained in my time as a shady lurker.

Thanks
-J
Welcome esq. J ! Yes there's lots to learn here so ask away folks are so helpful here ( I've been here for 3 years now). Good luck

Is that some kind of requirement of The Bar? 😉 Kind of like medical residents aren't allowed to sleep...

Here's hoping you can squeeze out some time soon for chickens and gardening; both are my very best "therapy"! BYC is definitely the place to be for support and fun on the Poultry Adventure; everyone's been so helpful and friendly since I joined and got chickens several months ago. Lurk no more, the coast is clear!
