Hello, I am a LVT and adopted a single Welsh harlequin duckling that was in need of a home. She was only 7 days old when I got her. Initially, the goal was to rehab and re-home, she (Harley Duck) had splay leg and needed to be hobbled. Long story short, the hobbling may or may not have caused tendon torsion. I am lucky enough to work with a veterinarian that is versed in exotic/avian medicine, so we took X-rays which looked promising. We attempted the corrective procedure for the tendon torsion and found that Harley Duck is unfixable... So I have copped with the situation and decided to keep her. Harley Duck is currently 2 months and 16 days old. She is recovering from her procedure.
I have visited this forum/community several times during my adventure with a single duckling, and it's been quite helpful.
Kind regards,
Harley Duck.
