Hi everyone,
I’m new here and very excited to get my chicks in 3 weeks. I’m a city girl, wanna be country girl - and actually “girl” is a bit of a stretch. I’m an almost retired bookkeeper, too.
I had chickens about 5 years ago and loved them. My little flock grew from 11 to 20 overnight when one of the hens disappeared into our woods for a few weeks and returned with her own flock of 9 adorable chicks. Hubby kinda flipped at the prospect of building a larger coop (the chickens were never his thing), so I got rid of everything and have regretted it.
This year hubby (same one ) offered to build me a new coop. Now I’m going bigger and better. I’m thinking 8x12 shed style. It’ll have a 4’ section in the back where I can store food and supplies and have a place to raise babies - said hubby also didn’t care for the mess the baby chicks made in his shop. Can’t wait to take the grandkids shopping for chicks!
So, that’s my story - my chicken story, anyway. I also like veggie gardening and love the Lord, the Maker of it all! Looking forward to a new chapter in my life and to learning all I can from all of you!
Thanks for listening
