Good morning, and welcome to BYC. Depending upon age children can be an inadvertent danger to chicks as they tend to squeeze them like they would a stuffed animal. Monitored holding is necessary with small children - and then hand washing. Good luck with your chicks.
 
Hi and welcome to BYC! We're so glad you joined us! :frow How old are the children? Older kids seem to be very gentle if you explain how delicate the baby chicks are. If you have toddlers though, you need to watch them really close. When my granddaughter was around a year old she was determined to 'taste' of the chicks. Apparently they looked yummy to her. :confused: 😄
