I’m a fairly new chicken owner in southern CA. I never wanted chickens but have them because I was taking care of 4 newborns that came from a high school farm during Christmas break. I planned on giving them back but couldn’t after my backyard was better for them then the so called farm they came from. I have a coop and they free range all day. I recently went to the coop and to my surprise there was a baby hatched Under 2 mamas. Being new to this life, I didn’t realize I needed to take eggs away of Indidnt want brooding hens. I felt bad and gave them cold eggs from the fridge to lay on assuming they’re weren’t fertile. Well little did I know. I didn’t want another chicken but now that I have her I love her. I’m having trouble with her fitting in now that the moms don’t protect her. She is 8 weeks today and has been with the flock since 5 weeks. She runs from
Them and won’t get too close and hates sleeping in the coop. She has been sleeping in the house for the last 3 nights because I’m afraid they will hurt her at night. Any tips? Will she ever feel okay to be part of the flock? I love all of my chickens and my gorgeous rooster but they aren’t very nice to this sweet baby. The rooster pays her no attention it’s the 3 hens that have the issues. 😄😄😄

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
An 8 week old pullet will not be accepted by the flock. She won't fully integrate until she is laying.
How big is your coop? I wouldn't lock her in with the others unless the coop is very large with places for her to hide away from the hens.
