Hi and welcome to BYC. Living in Kenya, I made my coops from heavy gauge wire and used metal sheets for roofing. Adding some roost poles and nest boxes was all that was necessary after that. I would imagine that something similar would be ideal down in Durban. Here are some helpful links:
