I agree with the others above. You need to get at least three chicks to start with. Do you already have a coop/run setup, or do you have a plan for one? Can you keep any roosters?

There are many online hatcheries that sell newly hatched silkies, but you can also try Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or see if anyone is selling chicks on BYC. Best of luck!

Glad to meet you Kristine. Welcome to BYC. There are a lot of members here in Hawaii. Use the Hawaii thread to contact and see if any BYC member is hatching silkies.

All silkies are bantams, so you don't have to specify that part. Any silkie will be a bantam bird. As others have said, you'd do best to get 2 or more birds. Chickens are flock birds and really want to have one or more pals. Best wishes in your chicken journey. Let us know if you get your chicks!
