(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Just over 6 months ago! Theyve been an addictive hobby since!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We currently have 10 hens & rooster in our main coop.Three 12 week old babies in our teen cage. 18 just left the brooder & more in an incubator
(3) What breeds do you have?
So far we have australorps, rhode island red, light sussex, speckled sussex, silver laced wyandotte, gold laced wyandotte, olive eggers, quambys, barred rock x blue australorp.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Everything! Such a fun animal, with a yummy return. Chickens are just so lovely to have around my farm & they have such awesome little personalities.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Basically just animals.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Im a stay at home mum with a small business for my farm. We have 40 acres, do we have horses, chickens, ducks, quails, plenty of dogs & plans to add more animals down the track.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
It was a long time coming actually joining! I didn't realise this community was also just sharing photos & stories, too! I figured I needed to have questions, which I didn't really have up until now.
