Hello, I have now had chickens for a little over a year. I have different breeds and love them all. I have two lavender orpingtons. One lays the tan egg and the other has never laid consistently and when she does lay, the egg is odd shaped and white. There are times when the shell is not completely there. I have 17 chickens and she is the only one that does that. Does anyone know what is causing this?

It could be that she just has a defective reproductive system.

Does she have access to appropriately sized grit and oyster shells?
What feed are you using?
Brand/ and type (like layer, grower, etc) would be helpful)

Do you offer treats?
If so, what type, how much and how often?
Do they free range?

Anything else that you think might be helpful?

Provided they've had a separate dish of oyster shell, I'd think the same, reproductive issues.
