hello! im new to byc and am excited to get to know all about chickens! I cant wait to meet new people too! we live in Indianapolis, in we just go

Dig trenches and burry the boards into it several inches. Cover the vents and the bottom openings with hardware cloth.

thank you! whst is hardware cloth?
it is a very tightly squared wire--It is a great barrier to things as small as rats. It keeps raccoons and other predators from getting the chickens. They will kill them and pull the chicken out through regular poultry wire.
