New Here

I never figured out how to get pics from my phone straight to here. So i post them to facebook then get on my computer and save them to it. Then upload them to here.
That's a really good idea! I will have to try that. I just picked up two females pygmy goats for my male goats

I have a bottle raised nubian x boer cross. Thats him and his twin sister in my profile pic. I raised them from 3 days old. The female died one day short of turning 5 mos old. The billy is 15 mos now. Im trying to find him a girlfriend but hes stunted in growth so ill have to get a pygmy or nigerian dwarf lol

I get the feeling she isn't an Embden. She has started to sprout feathers and some of the feathers on her back are grey while her chest and side pockets are white...Any ideas?

Depending on the breed(s) some can be sexed at hatch by color and as adults by color, like pilgram geese. Then you have some like
the chinese that can be sexed by the size of the knob on the bill when they are older. Others you have to wait until they either lay an egg or not to tell. There is DNA testing by a vet, depending on the vet its $20 & up, using a feather they can tell you if its male or female. Then there is vent sexing, by squeezing the goose or goslings to invert their behinds to expose the sex organs. Unless experienced in vent sexing i dont recommend it. A Inexperienced person can hurt the geese.
Also there is actions and behavior of the geese. A gander will stand taller than a goose and will lower his head to the ground and hiss. A ganders honk is high pitched. A goose has a deeper lower voice. When threatened or cornered a gander will stand in between the goose and what ever it is he is protecting it from. Ganders are more bold while a goose is more timid and will hang back instead of investigating like a gander will.. Of course this last part can be confusing if you end up with two of the same sex. If you cant tell by behaviors, then its best to just wait it out and see if you get an egg or if you really want to know and dont mind spending the money, get the DNA test.

Lucy is getting bigger and bigger every time I look at her! I had to road trip over to the University I go to for a final presentation before graduation and stopped in a local feed store with a friend who was getting horse feed. They had one little gosling in a tub of ducklings. I bought him instantly. Since the death of Lucy's little duck companion I have been searching all over for another friend for her and now she finally has one! They hit it off instantly! I named the little guy Gus.
