This is my first post. We brought our first three hens home yesterday. I am fortunate to have a good friend who owns a family farm with plenty of chickens, and they sold us three laying hens. I'm not sure the breeds and imagine they are more "mutts" than anything else. But, we are excited and hope the girls start laying eggs soon. We have them in a chicken tractor in our yard, and they seem to be getting adjusted just fine.
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
I'm sure I will bring home 1 or 2 or 3...♡
their names are Henrietta, Isadora, and Clementine. Lol
and Welcome To BYC! Cute little flock, like their names! X2 on the White Leghorn and Buff Orpington, with the lighter colored tail and hackle feathers would vote the red is a Red Sex Link (Red Star, Golden Comet, ISA Brown etc, different names depending on the hatchery).
