New home built incubator - thermometer discrepancy question

you could get a temple thermometer and just put it on the egg shell and keep the thermometer that is the closest they are designed to be within +/- .5 of a degree or take that acurite that has the probe take an egg shell and put a hole in the top dump out the inside of the egg and put the probe and hair gel in the egg and hot glue the top and put the egg in the incubator

That reminds me, we have a digital themometer that you use in a babies ear, I'm gonna try it and see what it reads.

I have a Braun Thermoscan that you use in your ear and it measured 100.5 on each egg and 103.5 air temp thru one of the vent holes. I have a 1602n hovabator. My RS meter says 100.3 inside temp and 99.7 outside temp, I have the outside temp probe at eggs level on the turner and the old glass type reads a tad higher than 100. The fluckers reads 102.7.

The Radio Shack model for 19.99 seems to be the most accurate of all 3 that I bought compared to the temps on the Braun Thermoscan or maybe they're both off. HAHAHA!!!

You could always put 2 themometers inside and go with 1 for the first hatch and if that don't work, go with the other for the 2nd hatch and if that don't work go with the average or go buy an expensive themometer that can be calibrated.

go to walmart and in the pharmacy area its with all the thermometers it reads in about 2 seconds the ones I have seen have a picture of a baby sleeping and mom putting the thermometer on the side of the babys head
