Hi Ladies and Gents,
My name is Aimee and I am currently looking for a new home where I can have chickens. I have wanted them for a while and have finally saved up enough money to buy a place, but need some help making sure i can have chickens (and goats) there. Some places are so hard to find rules and ordinances for and I am afraid to make a mistake. I am looking in WV, KY, TN, NC, and SC. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have known about this site for years and have lurked a few times, but felt like I was teasing myself since I couldnt have any chicks. Nows crunch time... I have to do this right. Any and all help is appreciated.

Hello and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.
Your best bet is to select a few areas you would like to move to based on cost of living and quality. Then research the varies municipalities to learn their restrictions on poultry. Then look for a house in the regions that allow them. It isn't so much the state as the specific areas within the state that mandate what you can and can't do with your property based on zoning.
