Never, I shall not suffer alone next year! You should also grow reapers and 7 pot peppers so you have more variety

I’d not even heard of 7 pot peppers until you mentioned them but Carolina Reapers are, alas, a hybrid which would make saving seeds from them unfeasible. If all goes according to plan they will have some regular cayenne and some fish peppers to keep them company though!

(I’m glad I got tulle bags this year because I’m going to need them again if I want to keep the varieties separate. )

Inspection
This morning I inspected my big mango tree. Every year it started flowering about July, but non this year....I thought..oh dear..no home grown mangoes ..grrr...

With careful inspection I noticed some small flower heads appeared...Oh joy indeed!

Working on a batch of apple syrup as I write. Processed a portion of our apple overload into 24 cups of cider which is on its way to apple syrup.

When does it turn into syrup? Did you have to put something else in it? Mine just turned into apple vinegar over a period of time.

I juiced apples and let it turned into apple vinegar. Before it turned into vinegar, it turned into something else that has bubbles and so tasty and joyful drinking it. If I dont' drink it, then it turned into vinegar over a period of time, it did not turn into syrup.

I'm growing habaneros this year from seeds saved from a pepper I bought at the store last year. I ate one and can't even imagine that a pepper could be hotter, but looking at the scale habaneros aren't nearly the hottest variety. But it did have great flavor hiding behind the heat.

I saw a video on parthenocarpy zuke. It had a chart showing the percentage of seedless fruit out of 100 tries. Dunja was 87 and Golden Glory was 100. I guess my first Dunja plant will never set seedless fruit. I have 4 more to test. Learning curve.
