Good morning, the kids and I received a new Hova-Bator still air incubator from Santa. There are two troughs for water to control the humidity, level. The directions (I think) said to fill only the center one. Sadly, the original paper work was lost in the Christmas shuffle. can anyone confirm this? We set them on new years eve. thanks in advance for the help.

Can you check their web site? I don't have a HovaBator, I have a Brinsea model but I know that the instructions for my incubator are on Brinsea's web site. Sorry I couldn't be more help. If you don't get a response from someone with your type of bator soon, try doing a search. There might be a thread out there already that explains how to use it. Good luck with your hatch!

You are correct. You fill the middle one only till day 18. When you go into lockdown you fill both.
I just got mine for Christmas also so I don't know how it well it holds humidity during lockdown.
It was suggested that I buy a fan when I was looking at buying. Its easy to install. DH looked at all my notes from my research on which incubators to buy so he bought the fan also.

Oh I had trouble seeing the water level so I added some food coloring to the water to make it easier to see.

Yeah thats what I thought. Great idea with the food coloring! Thank you good people. Happy New Year.
