I'm still learning how to navigate BYC, and just found all your replies. Thank you for the warm welcome. Today I drove from Denair to Sacramento, then Auburn, then Oakland. Yes, I saw much of beautiful CA today! I bought 4 Welsummer hens (not through BYC, though), a Welsummer cockerel, blue Orpington cockerel, and a black Orpington pullet. I have a GLW trio and a BR trio coming soon too. This site makes it all so easy...maybe a little too easy . Thanks a bunch!

HHandBasket; I was born and raised in Turlock. I am the 6th of 7 generations of my family here. My parents live in the house that my father grew up in, which was built by my grandmother's great-uncle in 1903. We have roots . I moved to San Diego for school, and stayed 15 years. I earned my master's in music and was teaching at a JC and waiting tables. I lost my jobs, and moved back home. Now I'm raising chickens and produce...who'd a thunk it?!
