Hi Doug! :frow

Lots of great people here.

I can link you to my favorite place on here.

https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/

Are you looking to raise birds for pets, eggs, meat? That will all come into play when choosing breeds. Everyone has a favorite breed though.

Northern Colorado feeders supply is AWESOME for chicks but quite a drive for you. They are in Fort Collins.

If ordering chicks there are a lot of options.

:welcome the best place on the web!

Welcome to BYC 1.gif
Welcome to backyard Chickens!

You will love having them

Looking to raise for eggs. We are currently using 1-2 dozen eggs per week; that doesn't account for hard boiled eggs. Maybe about 5-6 dozen per month. Conservative estimate.

This is something that my wife has wanted for a long while.
Thanks, Doug
You might need 3 hens per family member then!

Backyard chicken eggs are awesome!

Welcome, Doug and wife. Enjoy your time prowling around on BYC. Lots to learn. My FIL was a Ham Radio Operator. Do you garden? Chickens are wonderful gardeners (in the off season). They make great tillers, bug and weed killers.
