Generally a chicken needs 5 sq. feet of space in the coop NOT including roost post and nesting boxes. In the outside run, chickens should have 10 sq. feet of space. Chickens do not act kindly when crowded.

Good luck with your expansion. I'd consider limiting the number of birds to 3 until you have enlarged your setup.

It's already underway and the chicks are in the brooder for now.
