New in Corona CA - help me get chickens!!!

Hi all - Excited to be a new member!

My husband and I recently moved to Corona CA - bought our first house!

I've been wanting to keep chickens for a while and was hopeful that I could once I owned my own property ... But I was utterly disappointed when I found out that chickens aren't allowed in Corona! Even more surprising considering we are right next door to Norco CA, AKA horse town USA (complete with hitching posts at the bar for people who want to ride there).

I'm looking to join up with other people in Corona who are trying to get the laws changed, or who have gotten a variance to keep chickens. I would just go ahead and keep them anyway - but I know that I'd get so attached and be devastated if I ever got caught and had to give them up.

Any advice on changing the laws/ordinances would be most welcome!

Hi and :welcome from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard. There a section on the forum page about chicken laws and to change them. :thumbsup
 
Hi, i am from Corona, ca and want to change the law too.I am not quite sure where to start though. I am in South Corona....what about you?

I too live in Corona. I wasn't aware that we were not zoned for Chicks. I have friends here in Corona that have had chickens for a long time. My kids and I hatched some chicks this spring and also got some silkies. We have 6 chickens in all and I have not had any problems. I would love though for Corona to be zoned for chickens. Please let me know what I can do to help.
