) Golden Sex Link is one of a number of labels under which some hatcheries market their Red Sex Links which are laying machines. You should get loads of eggs from those six girls. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your chicks.
and Welcome To BYC! Sounds like you have quite a collection! You might like to check out the Caged Birds forum https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/57/caged-birds-finches-canaries-cockatiels-parrots-etc
You're welcome. Both Red (Gold) and Black Sex Links are superb layers. I've raised raised both varieties for years (along with dozens of other breeds and hybrids), and the Black and Red Sex Links have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 eggs per hen per year.Thank you! Last time I had chickens I had Plymouth Barred Rock and Black Sexlinks. The PBR were two yolkers regularly and the BSL were just regular layers. From everything I've read, the Golden Sexlinks are excellent layers too so I'm really excited to raise healthy happy pullets and get some fresh eggs when the time is right.![]()
