Hi everyone I'm Jan, I've been wishing for years to be able to raise chickens but never had the space to until I moved to nky. I'm going to be a complete beginner when it comes to chickens so I'm going to be stalking threads to learn as much as I can before I ever get my first one.

A bit about me, I'm a mom of 3; a freelance graphics editor; and I make runes, rune plates, and dice from resin as well as some jewelry. I do canning, crochet, sewing and gardening as well as most carpentry that needs done in my home.

I have a friend telling me to look into australorps but I was thinking maybe bantams. I want something good for eggs but also eventually meat. Might not be common consensus but they will not be pets if that makes sense.
