New - in MD (HoCo)

Welcome from Harford C. You'll love this site, we do. Nothing but good advice. I could have a hundred post but the search function is great.
Enjoy your chicken planning. Remember, draw up your plans then add 3 feet to all dimensions. Ha-Ha

I am also from the eastern shore, where are you at goldfinches?

I live in a tiny town called Powellville, 1/2way between Sby and Oc. Are you near me? Congrats on your new babies, I have some Red Stars who have just begun laying for me.

We are in Centreville, probably just over an hour to you. It takes us about an hour to Salisbury, a little more to OC. So excited to find other Marylanders, I have tons of questions, it's like having human babies all over, not sure if I'm doing the right thing and everyone has a different opinion. This site is great though, everyone is super helpful and our family is definitely enjoying our new chicken adventure!

Thanks ADozenGirlz!

I have read the MD codes both here on this website and also on our county website. Seems I can have 3-5 chickens. GREAT idea about asking the neighbors - I will casually mention the idea and see how they respond and then promise to share eggs with them!

You guys rock!

Welcome! My name is Heather, and i live in Baltimore county (sparrows point area)...i am one of the few people in my area with chickens. My boyfriend matt actually lives up in your direction (harford county- box hill) so i am always up that way. If you ever need help, you have an ear here. I'd say come see our coop too but it is nothing remotely impressive (We threw lumber and fencing scrap together at last minute- coop still doesn't have a suffient roof but it works). What breed are you thinking? and are you thinking of keeping a rooster? ... i am sorry, i nerd out on this stuff, especially when people are close by (no close chicken people down here).
